Hangover Breakfast Vegan!

caramelized red onion with coconut sugar, sage, black pepper and magic

What’s that saying?  To get over a hangover, you take what you indulged in the night before the following morning?  Something like having a beer after your bender, eases your hangover woes.  Well, last night I definitely indulged in one, two, three, actually four of my chocolate cupcakes (that nut butter icing was calling me!).  So this morning, I thought it would do me some good to have another on for breakfast to get over my cupcake bender the night before:)

Okay, so I wasn’t hungover, no headaches, just a craving for more cupcakes

starch and fat: check!

I decided to follow the other hangover home remedies by including fried food, fats and bread (doesn’t that soak up all your toxins lol?)

My breakfast was delicious and I actually consider it healthy–why?  Because it served me!  It calmed my beastly hunger pang roars, coated my intestine with oil and nourishment, filled my tummy and satisfied my taste buds.

There is so much information, studies and some pseudoscience (my personal favorite) out nowadays behind having a super clean, raw, vegan, plant based, alkaline, low starch, low fat (you get the idea) diet to feel your best and gain a stronger connection to other dimensions, ancestors and the source (god, higher power, nature, higher power).  I believe much of this to be true based on my own experiences.  I feel my best when I am eating according to my intuition and having a connection to what is on my plate.  For example, am I eating something that has been tortured, beaten to death or throat slit?  Or am I eating something that has spent it’s existence sucking up sunlight, rainwater and spent it’s days digesting the nutrients from the soil?  I choose the latter plate option.

Cupcake: “Hey beautiful!  I love you”

However, I know firsthand many people (mostly in my family) who have a strong connection to source energy, are guided by their ancestors, have lucid dreams, premonitions (fish=pregnancy anyone?), and this uncanny resilience and ability to let things go and not torture their spirit or inject anger and hatred within their bones–and they all (minus one) eat meat, and sometimes processed food.  So, while I do believe that eating a clean plant based diet is the best option out there, I know that it is possible to be connected to source and have a happy life on other diets.  shopping haul

I follow this plant based lifestyle to honor my family and ancestors before me who more than likely would have eaten this way had they had the opportunity.  These amazing people i have the pleasure to know may not have been “vegan” but they have always followed a healthy lifestyle within their own standards.  Diet is not the only tool you need to be your greatest version.  I have learned that what you feed your senses are just as important.  Are you feeding off of negative people? Hang around passive aggressive racists?  Gossip a lot?  Watch a lot of TV?  Support Donald Trump (LOL)?  Don’t read?  Don’t journal, knit, crochet, cook or tune into your sacral chakra at all????

Wow, where am i going with this?  Spelt bread does this to me.  Every time.

In effort to really get in touch my power and sacral chakra energy, I plan on doing daily blog posts for the next 21 days, until Dec-31.  We all have the power to create, and create something magical, wonderful and perfect in our own eyes.  So please enjoy the following 21 days with me.  Habits take 21 days right?  Something like that…. 🙂

  1. This post made me really hungry and want to copy cat your breakfast, which will probably turn into my dinner. However, it also made me realize I probably shouldn’t have had Twizzlers for Breakfast.

  2. Yes mama!!! Now you have me over here craving some avocado on toast with salt, pepper and sage. Very true about connection with source takes more than just eating healthy. It’s important to purge negative habits too. So ready for the next 21 days!!! Bring on the amazing posts!!!!
