Mango Mineral Smoothie Recipe

This smoothie recipe is a staple in our home at the moment for three reasons:  it’s green, delicious, and VERY nutritious.  Just because it’s chili outside, doesn’t mean that we don’t enjoy a nice cold smoothie.  Now is the perfect time to start gobbling up this smoothie to curb your cravings, fight that winter waistline and keep your immune system strong during the cold months.  My sons drink it more than I do, I just blend and hope that there is some leftover for Mommy.

WP_20150624_027In this recipe I’ve included sea moss and bladderwrack, two sea vegetable super-foods that are amazingly healing and nutritious.  I use a powder form by Dr. Sebi: Bromide Plus Powder.  The smell is of the ocean (kind of fishy) and the taste is pretty much the same.  I only use a small dose so my children don’t have the pleasure of drinking a mango, seaweed flavored treat (gag).  If you add this super-food powder, add as much as you want, but if you are looking to mask the flavor, 1/4-1/2 tsp is the way to go.  A little goes a long way.  Enjoy!  The amounts are approximate, but you get the idea (and you can see how it piles up in my Vitamix in the video I attached).

Mango-Mineral Green Smoothie: Child Pallet Approved

  • 1 cup Mangoes
  • 1 cup Peaches
  • 1/2-1 cup banana
  • 6 or more dates
  • at least two cups of Spinach (or any other leafy green like kale or watercress)
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp of Dr Sebi Bromide Plus Powder
  • Water (start off with 1 cup–add more to desired consistency)

All of my fruits are frozen.  When I use frozen fruits, I don’t have to use ice, which means less water and more produce.  If you blend up this combination with fresh fruits, you may need less banana and/or dates if you don’t want it too sweet.

Add your frozen fruits, dates, Bromide Powder, Spinach and water (in that order) and blend till smooth on high.  When adding the Bromide powder, I would recommend sprinkling it on top of your fruit to prevent clumping, or lightly sprinkle it in while your smoothie is blending.  You could also blend the water and Bromide powder separately prior to adding in the rest–it’s your smoothie, your method.

This smoothie has a delicious and sweet tropical flavor that is sure to satisfy even the finickiest of pallets.  I hope this recipe helps anyone out there looking to expand out of the usual strawberry/banana or blueberry blend 😉
