Getting Rich Is Easy, Changing Your Mindset is Hard

Why are so many of us resistant to change?  Why are we so consumed with nostalgia, that we let the new and innovative opportunities pass us by?  I believe it is because oftentimes we put limits on ourselves and quantify our own potential.  It takes a lot of effort and bravery to shift our mindset and way of thinking.  The thoughts that we cling to not only make up our identity, but they make us feel safe.

If we were always taught that the way to financial freedom is by going to school, getting a degree and landing a dream career that increases our credit score, helps to put a down payment on a home and purchase a car, then those are our mental confines we take into adulthood.  We dictate and measure our worth, value and level of success based on these standards.

But what if you don’t want to go to college?  What if you don’t care about being tenured and instead want to be an entrepreneur?  These folks with a different mindset are left to figure things out on their own, and many times in the process, face adversity, failure and feel lonely due to a lack of support.

With the internet, however, these financial narratives are starting to change.  Being an entrepreneur doesn’t have to mean that you are slyly scouring your Facebook friendliest to contribute to your go fund me account.    You don’t have to develop and pitch a business plan to investors, you can start a business and finance a dream or goal with simple hustles online.

I just finished a short, kindle Ebook, “Make Yourself a Millionaire“, by Murray Settle.  It is free with the Kindle Unlimited plan.  Building wealth is a real possibility now, if you are willing to change your money mindset and take advantage of these real, online opportunities.  Most of us are squandering our valuable time on Facebook timelines, twitter rants and Instagram feeds anyway, why not take that idle time to make money instead.  I make money with this website through affiliate links, Google Adsense and have another online cash cow that I don’t stress over.  You put in a little effort in the beginning and go take a nap.  Wake up and you start to see the fruits of your labor.  You start to see things bloom like a flower in spring.

You can see the shift in financial consciousness with the success stories of young people creating apps, starting online businesses or mastering the affiliate marketing hustle with click bank.  I think this is great.  It is great for everyday people like you and me who would entertain the chance to build wealth with little to no start up money.  The internet has a lot of cash creating opportunities that can provide a soft cushion, build up savings for any hardships that have yet to come and allow people to do what they really want to do with their life.

People who have the professional goal of serving their communities as a paramedic, firefighter or serve their country as a service member should not have to live paycheck to paycheck.  They should not have to constantly juggle credit card expenses and always have to work overtime to make ends meet.  I believe they deserve better.  Luckily, with the internet they can acquire assets to bring in money, in addition to their paycheck.  This will ease their mind and enhance their quality of life.

Everyone with internet access is sitting on a potential cash flow opportunity.  Read the ebook aforementioned to be introduced to 11 that you can start today.

  1. Very good post Jeanette! I’m a retired woman and for the past few years, I’ve been concerned about getting by but at 62, there’s nothing and then I came across that first video by Yaro Starek and here I am, working on setting up a blog and learning about affiliate marketing through Pinterest! To be honest, it’s actually improved my outlook (not a penny earned yet) because I’m not worrying because I have a plan and because I’m so busy learning so that I get it a little bit right.

So I did appreciate everything you had to say. Also, you have a nice looking blog and love the little avatar photo of you! Adorable!

    • That is wonderful to hear Debrah! I hope you share your link to your blog when it is set up. You have a lot of juicy stories and wisdom to share with the world and also, a demographic that is in need of more representation. I’m so glad you liked the post, but more so, I am happy to hear of your plans. I’m sincerely looking forward to seeing your content!
